Delete your account
Smisli · Artem Nurmatov, sole controller
In the app (fastest)
Open Smisli and go to Settings › Delete Account. You will be asked to confirm, and to re-enter your password if you signed in with an email address. Deletion happens immediately — there is nothing to wait for and nobody to email.
Before you delete, Settings › Export Data gives you a machine-readable copy of everything to keep.
By email
If you cannot reach the app — a lost device, a sign-in that no longer works — write to kernel.systems.ab@gmail.com from the address you signed up with, and ask for your account to be deleted.
We answer within one month, and normally within a few days. We may ask a question to confirm the request came from you; we will not ask for anything beyond what is needed to do that.
What gets deleted
Everything below is erased, not deactivated:
• Your account and sign-in credentials.
• Your saved words, notes, word lists and any text you pasted into the reader.
• Your review history, scheduling data, streaks, goals and settings.
• Your coins, shards and unlocked collection items.
• The daily usage counters our server keeps against your user ID.
• Everything the app stored on your device.
Administrative security logs are kept, but the parts that identify you — user ID, email address and IP address — are stripped out of them, leaving a record of the action and nothing about the person. That is what GDPR Article 17(3) allows a security log to keep.
Purchase records held by Apple, Google or our subscription provider are governed by their own policies and by tax law; ask them, or ask us and we will tell you what we can see.
How long it takes
In-app deletion is immediate. Backups roll off within 30 days, which is the outer bound in our Privacy Policy.
Deleting your account ends your access. If you had a subscription, cancel it in the App Store or Google Play as well — deleting the account here does not cancel a store subscription.
